Many individuals seem to function well on the surface, yet they may be quietly grappling with anxiety, self-criticism, emotional overwhelm, or a sense of disconnection from themselves. I offer counselling psychology services to children, teens, adults, couples, and families, helping them understand these patterns and fostering more compassionate, balanced, and connected relationships with themselves and others.
Hello, I’m Lauren.
As a provider of trauma-informed therapy, I focus on addressing mental health support needs for children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families, particularly in areas such as anxiety, disordered eating, body image concerns, self-worth, emotional regulation, and attachment-related difficulties.
My clients are often thoughtful, caring individuals caught in cycles of overthinking, emotional overwhelm, perfectionism, people-pleasing, or self-criticism. For many, these issues manifest as anxiety, challenges in coping with emotions, strained relationships, low self-esteem, or complex relationships with food and body image. Typically, these patterns develop gradually and are influenced by earlier experiences, relationships, and coping mechanisms.
I assist individuals dealing with anxiety, depression, body image concerns, disordered eating patterns, emotional overwhelm, and attachment-related challenges. Additionally, I support couples and families as they navigate communication difficulties, emotional disconnection, conflict, and relationship stress.
Many of the clients I work with seek to feel more grounded, emotionally balanced, and connected, yet they are often unsure of how to break free from the patterns that keep them feeling trapped.
In my work with children and families, I consider the broader relational and emotional environment that surrounds the child rather than addressing difficulties in isolation. Children grow and develop within relationships, and meaningful change often requires supporting both the child and their caregiving system.
My approach is warm, collaborative, and centered on helping clients achieve meaningful and sustainable change. Therapy blends emotional insight with practical tools and strategies to enhance self-awareness, emotional regulation, coping skills, and healthier relationships.
I integrate trauma-informed care, attachment-based perspectives, cognitive and emotional strategies, and body-aware techniques to tailor therapy to each client’s unique needs and experiences.
The objective of therapy is not perfection but rather to help you feel more connected to yourself, emotionally supported, and better equipped to navigate life’s challenges with increased confidence, balance, and self-compassion.
If you are seeking a supportive and compassionate space for mental health support to understand yourself better, strengthen relationships, and create lasting change, this work may be an ideal fit for you.
Outside of the therapy room, I value connection, balance, and the importance of slowing down when possible—whether it’s spending time with loved ones, exploring new locations with a coffee in hand, or enjoying a peaceful walk outdoors.
Somatic Approaches in counselling psychology, such as Polyvagal Theory and Internal Family Systems (IFS), provide valuable mental health support. Additionally, therapeutic methods like Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and ADHD-Focused Training address specific challenges. Topics like disordered eating and the impact of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) emphasise the importance of trauma-informed therapy in building resilience.
