When the same relationship patterns, emotional overwhelm, or persistent struggles continue despite your best efforts, it often indicates that the issues run deeper than what’s currently visible. I work with individuals and couples to decipher the emotional, relational, and nervous system patterns that drive anxiety, conflict, disconnection, intimacy issues, self-worth challenges, and other ongoing difficulties in life and relationships.
Hello, I'm Sondra.
I offer trauma-informed therapy for adults and couples, with a focus on complex trauma, attachment wounds, and relationship struggles. My approach examines how early experiences, attachment styles, and nervous system responses continue to shape our emotions, relationships, and sense of self-worth, providing emotional regulation support that enhances overall well-being.
Many individuals I support are thoughtful and self-aware, yet they often find themselves caught in cycles of anxiety, overwhelm, shutting down, people-pleasing, conflict, and disconnection. These patterns typically originated as coping mechanisms for earlier life experiences and now significantly impact current relationships and emotional health.
Additionally, I work with couples facing emotional distance, repeated arguments, intimacy struggles, betrayal, trust wounds, or enduring patterns that have persisted despite previous therapy. Many clients still care deeply for each other but feel increasingly unsafe, disconnected, or misunderstood.
Rather than solely emphasizing communication skills or managing symptoms, I assist both couples and individuals in addressing the attachment, emotional, and nervous system patterns that perpetuate these cycles. Longer sessions for couples allow us the space needed for deeper emotional work, regulation, healing, and authentic change.
My approach is direct, structured, and collaborative, drawing on neuroscience, attachment theory, trauma-informed practice, and experiential therapies. Together, we explore the origins of these patterns and how to create lasting, meaningful change.
If you’re seeking psychotherapy for couples or therapy that tackles the deeper roots of emotional or relationship difficulties—not just the surface symptoms—my approach may be well-suited for you.
